Meet Kelly & Gary

We were introduced at a mutual friends BBQ! I noticed Gary right away – his friendly smile and dark eyes!! You could say he had me at hello 🙂

The proposal

It was our 1 year anniversary and I knew Gary was taking me to a beautiful restaurant in Milton, QLD called ‘2 Small Rooms’. The biggest surprise was when he produced a ring after we ate our main meal! Needless to say I was too excited to eat dessert!

Your Wedding Day

Our wedding day was magical! We held our ceremony and reception at Glengariff Estate (Dayboro, QLD). The weather was perfect! Our ceremony looked out over the rolling hills of Dayboro. We released white helium filled balloons with notes to our loved ones who have passed away. We exchanged simple but heartfelt vows and then our kiss…! We made sure our guests were taken care of with drinks and canapes being served straight away as we had our photos taken. The reception was a 5 hour affair and was so much fun!!

The meals at Glengariff were HUGE so no one went hungry!! And I truly felt so special – my hair and make up took on a slight Dita Von Teese look which was set off by my Swarovski Crystal encrusted bird cage veil. And my dress, a beautiful champagne sweet heart neckline strapless with a lace and Swarovski crystal detailed bodice and beautiful full skirt! My new husband looked amazing in his matching champagne suit!! We felt amazing!! My bridesmaids wore Mr K one-shoulder full length dresses in the colour ‘cosmo’ (think cranberry) and looked stunning!!

The boys wore dark chocolate suits with ties to match the girls. It was a wedding where everyone dressed formal but the atmosphere was relaxed and fun! We had our first dance as man and wife on the terrace under the stars with tiny laser lights dancing around us! My advice to any brides-to-be would be to make sure the staff at your venue have good communication with your MC, and don’t be afraid to ask questions like – “what do you do when you cut the cake”, “where will I throw my bouquet” etc to avoid confusion on the day! But most importantly don’t stress the small stuff and enjoy every second
