Meet Candice & Curtis

We met in Melbourne when I was on holidays in June 2003. It was on my second last day of a 14 day holiday, when my friend and I went for a drink at a bar at the Casino. I spotted him as soon as I walked in and it really was love at first sight. I finally worked up the courage to speak to him after a drink. We went on a date the next day. I missed my flight home to spend an extra night with him. 6 weeks later I moved there!

The proposal

On our three year anniversary in July 2006, we went to Pemberton for a romantic weekend away. When we arrived at our chalet in Pemberton, we unpacked all of our things in the pouring rain. I was in the bedroom when Curtis called me to the lounge. I walked in and Curtis was on his knee in front of the fire with a stunning ring in his hand. I was extremely surprised, although had been dreaming of the moment since we met.

Your Wedding Day

Our wedding day really was the happiest day of our lives.

Curtis started the day with his groomsmen at our house. I had stayed at my parents’ house with my bridesmaids so we could get our hair and make up done. The morning went so quickly and I was extremely relaxed. However, the minute the limousine arrived, I started to feel very sick. I had to have an anti-nausea pill (which I later found out, Curtis had one as well).

I felt like a celebrity when I stepped out of the limo, we had 2 photographers and 2 videographers throughout the day and it was a little daunting.

Walking down the aisle was the highlight of my day. I FINALLY got to see Curtis after spending the night without him. We both relaxed the minute we saw each other.

When we arrived at the reception, ‘beautiful day’ by U2 was playing. It was surreal seeing everything put together how we had planned. And it was a relief that we didn’t have to set anything up ourselves (the venue did it all). Our first dance was to ‘All my Life’ by Kci and Jo Jo. Curtis and I sang the entire song in each other’s ears. It was very romantic.

We ended the night with a goodbye circle and Curtis’ parents drove us to the Esplanade Hotel to spend our first night as Husband and Wife. It truly was the best day of our lives.
