We had the best day of our lives. The weather was a concern all week and somehow we picked the one day that was 29 and perfect. Every day in the lead up and the week after rained! I was 30 minutes late, as we got married on a Friday and didn't account for peak hour traffic lights!!! The ceremony was really relaxed and casual which is just how we wanted it. Danny accidentally put the ring on my wrong finger. (I think he was a bit nervous!!) We had 170 guests who all seemed to thoroughly enjoy the day as much as we did. Our venue for both the ceremony and the reception was Glen Ewin Estate at Houghton. It is a beautiful location and I highly recommend it. The food that we chose was a 12 course banquet which worked really really well. All of our guests had all of the dishes which were shared in the middle of the tables. The food was unlimited so all of our guests were really well fed. Our honeymoon was to LA, New York Cancun Mexico, Las Vegas and San Francisco it was the best trip either of us have been on and definately a trip of a lifetime.

Our wedding day was almost a complete disaster! We planned for an garden wedding on our property and did not have a plan B! The day before the wedding we had torrential rain and winds of up to 60kms per hour. On the morning of the wedding there was snow in the nearby mountains and Nicks mother and our two sons required a police escort to get down the mountain so they could make it to the wedding! It rained on and off all day however when I started walking down the aisle the sun peeked through the clouds and the rain eased to a very light mist. The song playing was The Luckiest by Ben Folds and my tears flowed as I walked towards my soon to be husband. Everything melted away and all I could see was his smiling face. The only regret I have for the day was that our two year old daughter fell asleep in the car on the way to the ceremony. When I woke her she had a HUGE tantrum and refused to get out of the car so I walked down the aisle without her. We had such a fantastic and special day with our family and friends. It was worth all the dramas to be happily married to my wonderful husband.

It was amazing... I'm sure every bride and groom say that but the day was beautiful. We were in Cairns at the Colonial Club Resort, we had planned to get married in the gardens there but as it rained all day we got married on the decks there. We got married at 4.00pm so we had the whole day to take our time and chill out. the ceremony that was done by Tim's cousin was very emotional. Afterwards we headed to Trinity Beach and had photos on the beach and rocks, luckily the rain stopped just enough for us to get some amazing photos. Our reception was full of fun. laughter, great food and dancing. Tim is a Torres Strait Islander dancer and with some of his cousins and uncles performed during the night.

Elise & Brodie | Real Weddings Victoria

We were married in November 2010 in Woodend at the most amazing location - Campaspe House. It was a 3 day celebration that included just our immediate family. It was the perfect location that provided beautiful gardens - which were in full bloom - for the ceremony and photos as well as a first class restaurant and accommodation for all our guests. Best of all we had the whole place to ourselves. Being quite a stressful person I was suprised that the day was very relaxed, we all had breakfast and lunch togther, the kids played in the pool and all our guests relaxed with a few drinks before the ceremony. There were many times we forgot that we were there for a wedding, just relaxed and enjoying each others company. We had been very realistic that things may and probably will go wrong, but not even the weather forecast of storms could dampen our day - although I've never been more glad the weather man was wrong. The ceremony was emotional but with plenty of laughs. Our guests enjoyed some pre-reception drinks on the manor porch while Brodie and I had our photos taken around the grounds. We then dined in Campaspe House resturant, and the food was so delicous we are still raving about it. After dessert we moved to the lounges for some relaxing time with our family. Words really can't emphasise how our day was everything we had ever hope for and so much more... and most importantly perfect for us - exactly how every wedding should be!

We were married on a rainy day in November. Despite the rain we had a fantastic day! Ben and his groomsmen got ready at our house. I got ready at my Mums with my bridesmaids. We were married at the Melbourne Zoo surrounded by family and friends. With the rain we had to change our plans and move our ceremony inside, but it was still beautiful. Kim, our celebrant did a fantastic job! Our reception was held in the Rainforest Room at the Zoo. It was perfect! An avery surrounds two sides of the room and there are monkies and other animals climbing around. We had a cup cake wedding cake which turned out exactly as I wanted. We then used these as our bombineri as the dessert at the Zoo was nice. Ben and I decided to do something a little different with our bridal dance. During lunch breaks at work a friend and I put together the dance. We started with I Don't Want to Miss A Thing (Aerosmith) and then ripped into The Way You Make Me Feel (Michael Jackson). We also had the chorus from the Collingwood theme song. It wasn't traditional, but that's what we wanted... something different. We had such a great day, despite the rain! I wouldn't change a thing if I was to plan it all again! Now we can look back over our beautiful photos and remember our special day.
