Each year, Mauro Cantelmi and associates pack their bags and head to Europe.

Rather than 'chase the sun', the twice awarded Australian Photographer of the Year is fulfilling commissions from some of the great fashion houses of Europe and Australia.

The qualities that have brought him international acclaim in the highly competitive fashion world are evident in the way he captures the special moments in every wedding.

Through Mauro's eyes the most important wedding images are frozen in time - simple, elegant, moving images that reveal the solemnity o the service, the humanity of the event and the humour and passion of the people.

The difference is in his ability to blend the influences that drive European photography with the unique qualities that form part of the Australian photographic landscape.

His wedding photography is held in such thing regard that he now regularly shoots them interstate.

Mauro's approach is simple: there are no second chances.

"Great wedding photography is not about the things we see, but how we interpret them," he says. "Our aim is to create a visual statement that will continue to resonate over time."

"When I photograph a bride, it's as if I'm working with a model. I have to find the 'look' or the mannerism that reflects the occasion (label)."

His studio -Dezine by Mauro - is also behind the highly successful European Collection. Each year, the studio produces a limited edition suite of photographs which studies cultural aspects of Mauro's European heritage. Earlier editions are now appreciating in value, adding to Mauro's remarkable reputation as an Australian photographer with an international market.
