One of the long lasting traditions that take place at almost all weddings (including non traditional ones) is the newly married couples first dance. Never before has there been so much pressure to trip the light fantastic! Since most of us aren’t overly confident on the dance floor (unless there is a few drinks involved) and at the best of times look like the crazy people auditioning for “so you think you can dance” we have a few tips for couples who are looking for some wedding dance inspiration…

Take lessons

Calm your nerves with a few lessons with a professional. Most cities/towns have a dance school and if there isn’t one in your local area then try your local pub that holds salsa lessons… ask the teacher for some private lessons or join in on the group for a more budget friendly option.

Are your guests expecting you to tank once the music starts? Surprise them all with a finely tuned choreographed number and leave them with their jaws dropping! Who know, it might even end up on YouTube

Right song choice

Just because the groom loves AC/DC it doesn’t mean that you need to have it as your first dance. Go with something that compliments you/ your theme/ etc etc

Go classic

When in doubt go with the tried and tested… Sinatra seems to be a popular choice… whats not to love about old blue eyes?

Have a Plan B
Dont leave it to chance… even if the DJ promises he has your song… BYO iPod with your wedding dance song… you know… just in case!
