Last week we looked at the dos and don’ts of wedding hair. This week we take a look at what you should be keeping in mind when it comes to looking at your beauty routine and your make up for your special day.
A few months before your wedding start experimenting with cleansers, toners and moisturizers. If you already have something you like, stick with it. Make any changes to your routine well in advance as you may have a reaction to any new products. Give your skin plenty of time to get used to any new products you may be introducing into your beauty routine.
Have a makeup trail a few months before the wedding once you have decided on your “colours” Have another trail closer to the wedding if anything changes (including your hair colour, bridesmaids colours etc etc) Keep in mind you may be more or less tanned and your skin colour may change depending on the time of year you are getting married.
Have any facial, IPL and skin resurfacing treatments well in advance of your wedding day and stick to beauty salons and treatments you know., Chemical burns and facials gone wrong are not a good look on the day of your wedding. Avoid treatments in the last two weeks before your big day.
Leave any facial waxing to the week before the wedding (no closer that 3-4 days to the event) If you find a rogue hair tweeze it out and apply an ice pack to the area, to reduce redness.
When choosing your make up colours go for clean fresh and neutral, it will be easier for you to touch up on the day.
Waterproof Mascara is a MUST
Keep a sample of the lipstick/lip-gloss that your makeup artist will be using so you can touch up
