When Stephanie Suter booked her wedding car she couldn’t have imagined the chain of events that would take place on her way from the ceremony to her wedding reception. Whilst most brides will sip champagne and chat to their newly wedded husband Stephanie’s dream day turned into a nightmare when her wedding car, a vintage Chevrolet caught fire.

Stephanie’s new husband, Nathan did what all chivalrous men would do and pulled his new bride from the smoking vehicle, with her dress (all 20 layers of tulle) smoldering…. and not in a sexy kind of way…

Stephanie’s hair was also on fire and Nathan risked his life to get her out of the car (her foot was stuck under the seat) whilst the driver fought to put the fire out with an extinguisher.

All parties survived the incident, with the driver being treated in hospital as was later stabilised.

The happy couple made it to their wedding reception, slightly singed and managed a few steps of a bridal waltz.
