For you brides to be that are lucky enough to be heading north for the winter, you might be able to catch a glimpse of this centuries most iconic wedding dress! Kate Middleton’s wedding dress will go on display at Buckingham Palace this week until October 3rd.
The dress, designed by Sarah Burton who is the creative director of fashion house Alexander McQueen has described the dress as a modern Victorian corsetry, the padded hip, the tiny cinched-in waist, and also to the arts and crafts movement with all of the hand-work on the lace of the dress and also the bustle inside to create the shape of the back of the dress.
The The bride’s, tiara, McQueen bridal shoes and diamond earrings (which she received as a gift from her parents) will also form part of the display.
The work of Alexander McQueen has been on display at the “Met” in New York City, with sell out crowds and record numbers of visitors. We think that Sarah Burton’s creation for Mc Queen will create a similar sensation in London.
