Only in  Japan will you find a robot celebrant! Meet the I-Fairy, a 1.5-metre-tall seated robot with flashing eyes and plastic pigtails.

The I-Fairy oversaw its first wedding on Sunday in Tokyo, the first ever to be led by a robot.

Sunday’s wedding was the first time a marriage had been led by a robot, according to manufacturer Kokoro Co.

The wedding took place at a restaurant in Hibiya Park, central Tokyo, where the I-Fairy wore a wreath of flowers and directed a rooftop ceremony.

Thankfully, there will always be brides who want a personalised and personality plus wedding.

I don’t think I will worry about my job as a celebrant just yet.

    Great post!

My friend’s celebrant was such an excellent addition to her wedding ceremony that we’re using her for our wedding too! I couldn’t imagine ever using a robot…only in Japan!!

    is that even legal??
doesnt a celebrant have to sign certain things??
