Groom Checklist

Worried that left to his own devices your groom will turn up to your wedding in a pair of boardshorts and flip flops? Fear no more! the girls at Bride Online have come up with a Grooms Checklist to make sure your man is at the church on time and looking his absolute best!

12 weeks to go…

  • Along with your bride to be, decide on what you and your groomsmen are wearing. Take into account colours, themes and the weather. Visit tailors or rental stores with your whole bridal party if possible.

4 weeks to go…

  • Gather the boys again for a final fitting
  • Ties, cuffs, vests, shirts, shoes and socks all need to be purchased or included in rental

7 days to go…

  • Get a haircut!
  • Start wearing your shoes around the house to break them in
  • Get yourself some new underwear
  • Purchase thank you gifts for your groomsmen
  • Start working on your speech

24 hours to go…

  • Collect suits from the rental store/tailor. Double check all accessories that you have ordered are included.
  • Pack a bag including hair product, deodorant, band aids and spare socks.

The big day!

  • Eat a healthy breakfast (you will need all the energy you can get!)
  • Shave
  • Have someone on hand to help with ties and cuffs
  • Remember to keep the rings in a safe place or give them to your best man to look after
  • Leave plenty of time to get to the venue and remember to breathe deeply and smile!

Thanks for providing this list that even my groom will be able to follow!

  • Trina says:

I don’t know about a groom HAVING to shave on the day… Some guys look super cute with a bit of regrowth 😉

  • Joy says:

I agree with Trina – my man is DEFINETELY going to have “Three day growth” happening! He’ll look super hot in his pin stripe suit, I can’t wait to see him in it!

  • Simone says:

Whilst we are on the subject of shaving. Make sure his groomsmen don’t shave his eyebrows off before the big day!

  • Jodie says:

Now i can give this list to my hubby 2 B and know that he will do the things he needs too.. 🙂 not the most organised of men when it comes to getting ready for things lol

  • Lita says:

Im not so much worried about the shaving thing, more concerned about my fiance writing the speech! He absolutely hates public speaking – and now tells me he is going to ‘wing’ it!! ARGH!

  • Kylee says:

I think the Groom get a little left out when it come to a check list and my Hubby to be will like this.

  • Sarah says:

I think there needs to be one more thing to the end of that list…
Breathe, smile, whisper things to me to make me laugh and to keep ME breathing and smiling.

  • Deb says:

You definately have to check the rental stuff. We attended a wedding recently 3hours out of the city and the best man had 2 left shoes.

  • Ashton says:

I think the groom should plan the honeymoon 🙂

  • Mrs B to be! says:

If my dress is cream… is it ok for the groom to wear a white shirt???

  • admin says:

Of course… its your wedding, you can do whatever you like… however we suggest if you are planning on having photographs taken, its best the groom leaves his jacket on so there is something to break the colours!
