Great article, no doubt. But what i fail to understand is why you would use a photograph of the radest looking cake ever with the headline "The Five Worst Wedding Cakes Up to Date".

I feel there is a huge contradiction and an injustice has occured. Domo fans across the world will be outraged.

Shame on you.

That's a gorgeous photo! And I love that they cut the cake boefre the pictures...I think it's so rude to make people wait - sometimes more than an hour! - to see the bride and groom and start enjoying the reception. We had a very small (but elegant, I think) wedding. I'll probably blog about it this summer, on our anniversary in June. For one, that's just me...I wouldn't have wanted to spend the money on a huge to-do. Also, it was only a few months after my mom passed away, so I actually wanted to be more intimate, even a little subdued.I love hearing about your history with this couple...so awesome! And I know you'll all enjoy that dinner together so much. :)

Very true. On one hand, the photographer is the most imnartopt vendor next to the officiant (because you can't get married without an officiant). On the other hand, it's a flooded market with so many photographers and so many pictures, so bloggers might seem spoiled for choice. But they're not. Well, maybe SMP is, but smaller bloggers are pleased as punch when they see a nicely shot wedding submitted to them. I haven't had a single real wedding submitted yet, which is a total bummer. But my blog is small potatoes next to the Big Girls.

I enjoyed the arolfl perspective of weddings It was kind of fun to read. I've been doing wedding videos for 8 years and I still don't really understand weddings. I am convinced that upon entering into an engagement, most couples, together with their families, enter into a temporary state of illogical group think that can not figure out what actually matters on a wedding day.I saw it happen to my own family. I even saw it happening to me on my sister-in-laws wedding. I had to keep reminding myself that everyone would return to normal in a few weeks. But your little phrase should be the basic axiom of weddings!

Love the tipsy toes suggestion! I like the idea of giving out something guests can use that won't just collect dust. And if they can double as decoration, even better!

What a terrible story, I hope it isn't true and is just a reminder to us all, that sometimes weddings don't and can't be seamless.

My brother and his wife spent over 50 grand on their wedding. However my fiancé and I are planning on a small intimate wedding and hoping to pay around the $5000 mark. We're both shy but he's even more than me so small would suit us fine.

I reckon it would be so cool to have a photo booth at a wedding. The pics would get crazier as the night goes on!
